Mara Mhòr Offshore Wind Farm developers provide support to engineering students as part of their investment in the future
The bursary aims to play a part in retaining high achieving and talented engineering students in the Highlands and Island and helping to build a future generation of renewable energy specialists to help deliver Scotland’s net zero ambitions.
The support provided will be in the form of a grant per student to the value of £5,000 each for the 2022/23 academic term. This Will be paid in two instalments of £2,500 paid equally over the two academic semesters. The fund is now open for applications and closes on Friday 26th August 2022 at 5pm.
Dr Carolyn Heeps, Project Director for Mara Mhòr Offshore Wind Farm, said:
“We are really pleased to open applications for our University of the Highlands and Islands Future Leaders Fund. This initiative is designed to nurture local engineering talent and support students during their studies. We also hope that the bursary will help us to develop the engineering talent of the future.
“We are determined that our delivery of the Mara Mhòr Offshore Wind Farm supports Scottish industry and the local community, whilst stimulating growth in the local green economy.
“This is such an exciting time to be building careers in renewable energy, as projects like Mara Mhòr move from the drawing board to reality.”
